Mark A. Malson, 61, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born February 6, 1959 in Rushville.

He retired from the US Navy in 1999 after 20 years of service. Mark was formerly a regional manager of marketing and development for Papa John’s Pizza for 17 years. He had worked at Lucas Oil Stadium as a supervisor since its opening. Mark was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed auto racing, fishing, football, playing cards, drinking coffee and reminding everyone he was good looking!

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Anna Malson of New Castle; three daughters, Jessica A. Malson of Rush County, Amanda Brinker of New Castle and Elizabeth (Jon) Shelton of New Castle; his father, Leo Malson of Connersville; 12 grandchildren, Ryanna, Xavier, Marcus, Coltin, Kaytlin, Zoey, Kenzie, Lucas, Alexias, Savannah, Jessica and Ariel; sisters, Anna (Jeff) Petty of Lawrence, Becky (Roger) Lilge of Indianapolis and Bonnie Bond of Michigan; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Helen Runyon and Brother, Billy Preather.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with John Byrne officiating. Military rites will be conducted by a contingence of the US Navy, American Legion and the VFW. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Mark Malson Memorial Fund, c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S.
