Marjie Christine Brown, 96, of New Castle passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, December 4, 2020.
She was born on July 16, 1924 in Cartwright, KY, a daughter of the late Silas and Minnie (Marlow) Stearns.
Christine married the love of her life, James Paul Brown, in 1950 and they enjoyed 51 years together before his passing in 1990. She was a homemaker and loving grandma to everyone that knew her. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle and enjoyed quilting, taking car rides, cooking and hosting family gatherings. Christine was lifelong Elvis Presley fan and thoroughly enjoyed her trip to Graceland in 2007.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Mark (wife: LaDonna) Brown of Anderson and Shirley (husband: Phillip) Neal of New Castle; grandchildren, David (wife: Monica) Latham, Kevin (wife: Tiffany) Neal, Mark A. Brown, Brandi (wife: Patty) Neal, Schyler Brown and Johnny Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Latham and two sisters, Gladys York and Jean Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
