Lawrence Joseph Bischoff, 86, of Connersville passed away late Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020 at Aspen Place Health Campus, Greensburg where he had been a patient for the last six months.

The oldest of two children of Joseph G. and Anna Magdalena Snyder Bischoff, Lawrence was born in Connersville on January 13, 1934. He graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1953 and earned his associate degree in agriculture from Purdue University.

Lawrence served his country in the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge in 1958 with the rank of Specialist Third Class.

A steward of the land, Lawrence cared for the family farm, sold seed corn and fertilizer, and was employed for a number of years at McQuay-Norris in Connersville.

Lawrence was a faithful member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in addition to the American Legion Post #1, the 4-H Alumni, Future Farmers of America, and the Rural Youth Association.
In his leisure time, Lawrence enjoyed traveling throughout the world, tractor pulls, going to Connersville High School sporting events, and talking to his many friends and neighbors.

Survivors include three children, Ann Rachel Carpenter, Laura Jo Bischoff, and James Joseph (Jeanette Marie) Bischoff, all of Connersville; the mother of his of children, Nancy Foreman; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, and Maggie Carpenter, Tanner and Macy Hardwick, Ben, Emily, Lillie, Alexa, and Nick Bischoff; two great-grandchildren, Blair and Bailey Baxter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clarence Bischoff.

A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council will follow in Dale Cemetery.
