Joseph S. Reis, age 71, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Reid Health.

Born October 20, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Robert and Joan Sachs Reis, Joseph moved to Richmond in 2014. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1972, where he was a member of Zeta Beta Tau. Joseph was a business owner, who began his career in the family business, Seasongood & Mayer, in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and a very active member of the Richmond Senior Community Center. Joseph was a patron of the arts and especially enjoyed attending performances at the Cincinnati Music Hall. He was also a Cincinnati Reds fan, an avid reader, and a historian.

Survivors include his children, Nicole Swan of Louisville, Kentucky, and James (fiancée, Natalie Stewart) Reis of Richmond and their mother, Jan Paul of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Ella and Ashley Reis and Audrey and Daphne Swan; brother, Mark (Maureen) Reis; niece, Katie; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation for Joseph S. Reis will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask in the funeral home. Private burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
