Joanna Sue (Sharp) Stevenson, age 89, died peacefully on October 17, 2020. Her husband of 67 years, David L Stevenson, predeceased her. Sue and Dave lived for 39 years in the Stuart, Palm City and Jensen Beach, FL area during their years in retirement.
Sue was born in Richmond, IN, graduated from Richmond HS and then from Indiana University with a BS. She was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and its Alumni Association. She volunteered for the Martin Memorial Medical Auxiliary, Hospice and Hibiscus House. She avidly played tennis and enjoyed bunco and bridge.
Prior to retiring to FL, Sue, Dave and their two children lived on and off in Battle Creek, MI for 25 years while Dave held many worldwide executive positions with The Kellogg Co. These different positions provided the opportunity for Sue and her family to live in Japan for six months, England for four years, Belgium for two years and Pottstown, PA for one year.
Sue is survived by two children, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a half sister.
A memorial and burial will be held at Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice of Stuart, FL.
