Jimmie G. Smith, age 68, passed away November 27, 2020, at his residence after a short hard-fought battle with ALS. He was born on September 21, 1952, in McKee, KY to James and Anna (Cox) Smith.

He graduated from Connersville High School in 1971 and later served in the United States Army with a majority of time being spent in Greece. He married Carol D. Harrison of McKee, KY on April 26, 1975.

In September 2019, he retired from Reclaimed Energy in Connersville, IN after 28 years of service. He became a faithful member of the Eaton Pike Pentecostal Tabernacle later in life. Jimmie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting deer, squirrel, and taking trips to hunt grouse. In the spring, he enjoyed mushroom hunting with his wife. He thoroughly enjoyed just being outside walking and enjoying nature. Jimmie was a flea market and yard sale, enthusiast. He loved collecting and working on fishing equipment.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol D. Smith of Richmond; son Timothy (Veronica) Smith of Richmond; 2 grandsons Quinton Smith and Chamberlain Smith of Richmond; 1 sister Kathy (James) Isaacs of Connersville, IN

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, David G. Isaacs.

Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at The Pentecostal Tabernacle at 480 West Eaton Pike Richmond, IN with Pastor Tyler Luck officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, IN.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the church. Due to the Covid19 Pandemic, we ask that Covid19 guidelines are followed and masks are worn during visitation and funeral. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
