James “Jim” E. Taylor, 83, of Connersville has gone home for the final time, Wednesday evening, April 22, 2020. He passed away at Reid Health of Richmond where he was a patient for the past week.

Jim was born September 18, 1936 in Fayette County, one of four children of Robert and Zella Brewer Taylor.

Jim served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Corporal.

Most of his life was spent farming on the homestead where he was born near Fairview. Jim was a journeyman buffer-polisher where he had been employed at City Bumper, Metal Plating, and Greene Manufacturing, among other places over the years.

He was an avid fan of bird watching and collector of many things, which included friends, where he never met a stranger.

Jim is survived by his wife, Geneva (Staley) Taylor of Connersville; a daughter, Sherry McHale of Richmond; a son, James (Melissa) Taylor Jr. of Connersville; and a sister, Nina Ross of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Taylor, and a brother, Tom Taylor.

Family funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2020 with Reverend Jeremiah Burton officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council will be in Dale Cemetery. A live stream of the service may be viewed at millermosterrobbins.com. Jim resides now in greener pastures with blue skies overhead, the sun on his face, surrounded by family and friends among the clouds. The streets of Heaven have gained another angel. RIP.
