Felton Underwood, at the age of 79, of Richmond, Indiana, departed Monday, July 13, 2020.

Felton was born on August 3, 1940, in Selma, Alabama, but grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He retired from Parker Hannifin in Eaton, Ohio, in February 2007 and was a longtime member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Felton was often described by everyone as being very humble and kind; he was always the same. Felton lived an active life. He loved reading and studying the Bible daily and made a hobby out of reading math books. Felton enjoyed watching basketball games, western movies, the sunset while driving, roller skating, and playing basketball. He actively played basketball until he was 76 years old, naming his basketball “Betsy”. Felton was also well known in many of the restaurants in Richmond, often making rounds to his favorites. He loved spending time with his sweetheart, wife Wanda, nine children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Felton is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wanda F. Underwood; daughters, Zanetta Stephens of Connersville, Indiana, Norma (Jim) Herbolt of Richmond, Rita Boggs of Dayton, Ohio, and Darlene Boggs, Teresa Underwood, Tonia Underwood, and Gail Underwood, all of Richmond; son, Eugene Underwood of Richmond; granddaughter, Tina (Jordy) Burdette; grandsons, Chaun Boggs and Jacob Church; great-granddaughters, Taylor Kinnison and Gabby Burdette; brothers, Robert (Adelaide) Underwood, Jerry Underwood, Steven Underwood, and Willie Underwood, all of Fort Wayne; sisters-in-law, Mary Underwood and Marva Embry; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Earline Underwood; sisters, Claudia Stewart, Gloria Crawford, and Earline Hill; brother, Marvin Underwood; son, Fredrick L. Boggs; grandsons, James L. Herbolt ll and Xavier J. Underwood; and nephews, Bobby Dixson and Jason Underwood.

There will be no public services for Felton Underwood. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
