Doris Ann Luellen, age 84, died Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Born February 17, 1936, in Economy, Indiana, to Lindsey and Louise Jordan Kemper, Doris lived in Wayne County, Indiana, most of her life. She graduated from Economy High School in 1954, earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University in 1958, and received her master’s degree from Ball State University in 1961. Doris served as a teacher at Hagerstown Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Hartley Hills Country Club, both in Hagerstown. Doris was also a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and a lifetime member of the Indiana University Alumni Association. She loved to travel and had been to all 50 states and two-thirds of Europe. Doris enjoyed cheering for IU basketball and playing bridge. She liked to golf and made a hole-in-one at the age of 79! Above all, Doris enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Ronald Luellen, to whom she was married June 14, 1958; children, Julia (Steven) Minhinnett of Richmond and Rob (Marietta) Luellen of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Lauren Minhinnett, Matt Luellen, Shelby Minhinnett, and Lindsay Luellen; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sue Kemper.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we regret to inform you that services for Doris Ann Luellen will be private with Chaplain Sandra Ward-Angell officiating. Entombment will be in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum.
