Donald “Don” M. Caster, age 92, a resident of Springport, In., passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 26, 1927 in Portland Indiana and was a son of the late William Henry and Ruth Naomi Theurer Caster.

He was an Army Veteran of WW II and Korean War and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars He was a skilled leather craftsman, numismatic, loved fishing, golfing, the outdoors and especially enjoyed being a member of the “Circle D Rangers” Western Reenactment Group. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation, February 28, 1987 after 30 years and 1 day of service and was active in UAW Retiree Activities. He was also involved with Senior Center activities and served as a Precinct Committeeman for the local elections. He served a term as President of the NCC Credit Union.

Those left behind to cherish his memories include his son, Kevin Caster of Mooreland, Indiana; a daughter, Kelly Caster Myers (husband, Kenneth), Greenfield Indiana; a granddaughter, Sarah Myers of Indianapolis, Indiana; a grandson, Seth Myers of Seymour, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara “Kay” Frost-Caster whom he married March 9, 1951, she passed away March 20, 2009; a son, David Michael Caster; brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2:00p.m., August 19, 2020 at Macer-Hall-Marcum-Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street Chapel. Friends may call 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., before services. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
