Cynthia “Cindy” Elaine Burch, 73, a life-long resident of Connersville, passed away Wednesday morning, August 12, 2020 at Hickory Creek nursing home where she had been a resident for the past week. Cindy fought a courageous battle with cancer for the last five years.

She was born May 30, 1947 in Connersville, one of two children of Richard Slayback and Dorothy Morgan. She was a 1966 graduate of Connersville High School, and she also attended the Indianapolis Business College.

For over 25 years, she was employed at Roots-Blower working in the shipping and data entry department. Cindy was later employed for ten years at Winslow Browning Paint Company in Liberty.

Cindy was married in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to Herbert “Tom” Burch. Mr. Burch passed away May 15, 2020.

She enjoyed going to the movies, traveling with her family, sewing, quilting, and gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Burch of Connersville and Jason (Nikki) Burch of Richmond; three grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey, and Abigail Burch; four great-granddaughters, Anna, Gabby, Bella, and Nevaeh; two brothers, Joe (Terri) Slayback and Rick Slayback, both of Connersville; a sister, Dana Slayback; and two sister-in-laws, Rosemary Gulley of Everton and Julia Crawley of Bloomington, Indiana; She is also blessed with several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Lance Burch and Richard Burch, and an infant great-grandson, Hunter Conn.
