Charles “Chuck” A. Jarboe, 81, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 surrounded by his family following a battle with cancer. He was born August 4, 1938 in Indianapolis to the late Cletus and Mary (Sturgeon) Jarboe.

Chuck retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2000 and was a member of UAW 371 where he served as Chairman of the Chrysler Retiree Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, history and traveling, but his favorite hobby was flying anything including kites, model airplanes, drones and also held a pilot license for several years. He served as secretary for the Wright Flyers and was on the Board of Trustees for the Wilbur Wright Birthplace in Millville, IN. He was also the BEST Daddy and Papaw anyone could ask for.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sally A. Jarboe; children, Pamela (Jeff) Chambers, Brian (Dana) Jarboe, Jennifer (Gary) Edwards; grandchildren, Shannon (Felix) Alva, Ryan Jarboe, Elliot Edwards, Dustin Jarboe, Owen Edwards, Clara Edwards and Miranda Jarboe; great grandchildren, Cole, Ava, Alexandra and Andre; three siblings, Cletus (Noni) Jarboe, Thomas (Jean) Jarboe and Freida (Edwin) Black and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Jarboe and a brother, William Jarboe.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Paul Baty officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 at the funeral home. The family asks that masks be worn and social distancing practiced.
