Carol L. Hughes, 82, of Connersville, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Majestic Care in Connersville. She was born on November 26, 1937, in Connersville, and is the daughter of Wilbert Gansert and Ethel Carpenter Gansert. She graduated from Orange High School. On June 28, 1959, she married Arthur Hughes in Glenwood.
Carol was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. She loved collecting angel figurines and listening to classical music. She could often be found working on a jigsaw puzzle or doing a word search. She also greatly enjoyed watching and collecting hummingbirds.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; two daughters, Teresa Lowe, of Connersville and Mary Hughes, of Rushville; and two sons, Robert A. Hughes and Craig Hughes, both of Glenwood.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Barbara Mohler, and a son-in-law, Robert Lowe.
Visitation for Carol will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeremiah Burdon officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
