Gabriel D. Geis, 35, of Connersville passed away Friday morning, August 23, 2019, at Reid Health, Richmond, Indiana.
A life-long resident of Connersville, he was born October 31, 1983, one of two children of Keith and Debra Cummins Geis, and was a 2002 graduate of Connersville High School.
Gabriel was a member of St. Gabriel Church where he served as an altar server, cantor. He had also served on the parish youth council and the Archdiocese youth council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #861, Sons of AMVETS Post No. #11, and the Sons of American Legion Post No. #1 where he volunteered and helped organize fundraising events. Gabriel has been a true patriot since he was a young boy, from helping his grandfather put out American flags throughout the community, to volunteering at the Veterans organizations activities. Just like his father, Gabriel had a passion for music. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, and playing the drums at every available opportunity.
He is survived by his mother, Debra Geis, of Connersville; his sister, Jennifer Geis Steele and husband, Dusty, of Connersville; best friend and soul mate, Becky Lodge, of Hagerstown; his half-brother, Jason Smith and wife, Mandi, of Brookville; nieces and nephews, Dominic and wife, Charlotte, Marissa, Luke and Elisha Steele, Cameron, Jake, Stevie, and Elliot Smith; great-nieces, Aria and Aurora Steele; aunts and uncles, Larry and Kathy Cummins, of Richmond, Cathy and Donald Steinard, of Everton, Ron and Janeil Cummins, of Connersville, Tom and Mary Geis, of Connersville, Luanne and Alan Williams, of Blaine, Washington, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Keith Geis; paternal grandparents, Robert and Joella Geis; maternal grandparents, James and Betty Cummins; and a cousin, Christopher Geis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Reverend Dustin Boehm officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 9 PM, Wednesday. Friends may also visit online anytime at
