Mary Jane (Maurer) Dolehanty, 78, of Richmond went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018.
She was born in Richmond on December 8, 1940 to Harry and Anna Teany Birck Maurer. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1959. After raising her children, she attended Indiana University East and earned an associate degree in nursing. She worked at Golden Rule Nursing Home and at Reid Hospital on the Mother-Baby Care Unit. Upon retirement, she was honored to serve the Sisters of St. Francis in Oldenburg as an Associate in the lay order.
She enjoyed embroidering and was active in the ROSE Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America. Mary Jane enjoyed family trips to North Carolina and other states, and spending time with her large family and even larger circle of friends. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. The number of lives she touched cannot be counted.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Joseph Patrick Dolehanty; children Dennis (Lisette) Dolehanty, Carole (Mark Klingelhoefer) Dolehanty, Darrin (Cherie) Dolehanty and Casie Dolehanty; siblings Phil (Juanita) Maurer, Thomas (Anna Marie) Maurer, Donald (Darlene) Maurer, Harry Maurer, Marilyn (Robert) Kettler and Marguerite (William) Stephens; grandchildren Rachel, Mary, Lacee, Jake, Leah and Madeleine; and dozens of nieces, nephews, and godchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by siblings Charles Maurer, Martha Fulton, Betty Werner, Richard Maurer, John Maurer and infant Harry Maurer.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Saint Mary Catholic Church. Father John Luerman will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in St. Andrews Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary and are welcomed to join a rosary service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
