Richard (Dick) A. Toney, 77, of Connersville, Indiana passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Connersville, Indiana. He had been in failing health, but his death was unexpected.
He was born on November 9, 1940, in Connersville, Indiana, to Charles Sr. and Mildred E. Toliver Toney – both preceded him in death.
In the past, he had been employed at the Golay, National Metal, H.H. Robertson, Rogers Engineering, and Square D. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, mushroom hunting, woodworking, and metal working.
He will be greatly missed by his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years – Karen R. Filler Toney. They were married on June 26, 1965 at the First Baptist Church in Connersville, Indiana. His family also includes a daughter – Crystal Toney of Connersville, Indiana; a son – Curtis R. (Shannon) Toney of Connersville, Indiana; 2 grandchildren – James T.R. Toney and Martha R. Toney of Connersville, Indiana, and a mother-in-law, Mable Hash Filler, of Connersville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother – Charles Toney, Jr. and a sister – Regina “Toni” Tetrick.
Friends and family may visit from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, located at 513 West 8th Street, Connersville, Indiana. The funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Urban-Winkler Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Lovett, of the Crosspointe Biker Church, will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
