CENTERVILLE – Esther L. Weisenborn, 78, passed away Friday afternoon January 5, 2018 at home in Centerville.
A daughter of the late Leslie E. and Violet Anna (McKee) Baker, Esther was born on the Hurst Farm on Pennville Road in Fayette County, Indiana on February 14, 1939.
She lived most of her life in Wayne County, attended grade school in Abington and graduated in 1957 from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. Esther had lived many years in the Cambridge City community and did secretarial work at Converto and Stant Manufacturing in Connersville. She retired from Wal Mart in Richmond where she worked as a cashier and in the electronics Department. Esther was a member of the Golay Senior Center, Rainbow Girls and Sigma Alpha Sorority. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughters and great grandchildren.
Survivors include, 2 daughters, Terri (Bob) French of Cambridge City and Diana (Joe) McIntosh of Richmond; 3 granddaughters, Heather Hormel, Abbi and Chelsea French; 5 great grandchildren, Grace Smith, Aubree Peterson, Carson French, AJ and Zoe McIntosh; 3 siblings, Maurice Baker of Lincoln, NE, Ann Hart of Centerville and Joyce Lammott of Pershing; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Esther was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Rodney Jay French on November 7, 1987; 3 brothers, Earl, Paul and Dale Baker.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 13, 2018 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Brooke Baker will officiate. Burial will follow at the Zion’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday January 12th.
