Richmond – Ernest Alonzo Chance Jr., 70, of Richmond died Oct. 26, 2018, at Reid Health.
He was born September 16, 1948, in Richmond to Ernest Alonzo and Katherine Frances Button Chance Sr. and lived here all his life.
He worked at Belden Corporation and The Palladium-Item. He was a 1967 graduate of Centerville High School, a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and Up with People. He enjoyed playing pool and darts, fishing, football, horse racing, NASCAR, and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his seven daughters Sarah (Tim) Henemyre, Michelle (Matt) Michaels, Kimberly (Rocky Ferguson) Chance, Patricia (Luke Rudicil) Chance, Sandra Chance, Christina Chance, and Dominie Carney, 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Carol Joyce, two grandchildren, parents, and two sisters, Joyce Sheckles and Christina Chance.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday November 2, 2018 in the Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Stegall-Berheide-Orr. Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
