Andrew (Andy) Michael Sallee, age 39, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Thursday, August 30, 2018, at his residence in Largo, Florida. Born December 4, 1978 he was the fifth of five children born to the late Robert Sallee and Anna Margaret Scott Sallee in Connersville. A graduate of Cambridge City Lincoln High School, Andy attended various colleges. Andy worked in a variety of jobs but most included utilization of his strong writing talent. He was a talented sports writer. He was employed for many years at area newspapers including the Richmond Palladium-Item, Connersville News Examiner and the Brookville Democrat/American. Andy was known for his quick and keen wit. He could tell a story with a deadpan countenance and have everyone else in the room erupting in laughter.
Survivors include sisters and spouses Annette Taylor, Seminole, Fla.; Alisa Corman (Joe), Centerville; and Angela Sallee (Steve) Richmond. Nieces and nephew, Amanda and Emma Corman, Sarah and Corey Cox as well as many other family members, including several aunts and uncles, and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Sallee, and brother-in-law Richard Taylor.
There will be no public calling or formal funeral services. His remains will be buried next to his mother in Indiana. A memorial service will be at the convenience of the family.
