Andrew Maurice Suttles, 84, of Cambridge City, went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning January 30, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 19, 1933 in Connersville, Indiana, a son of the late William McKinley Suttles and Molly Fern (Crook) Suttles.

Andy was a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School. He married the love of his life, Thelma Christina (Stewart) Suttles, on May 23, 1952. Andy served in the US Army and following active duty continued his service in the US Army Reserves retiring in 1965 as a Staff Sargent. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for 45 years. Andy was a faithful Christian and a long-time member of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Dublin. He enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and antiquing.

Those left to cherish Andy’s memory include his children, Kristy (Rev. Lester) Rowan of Mercer, PA, Karole Gosser of Marion, Todd Suttles of Cambridge City and Kathy (Garry) Bowling of Richmond; grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) VanValkenburg, Wesley (Carrie) Rowan, Andrew (Nancy) Rowan, Crystal (David) Brumfiel, US Army Lt. Tony (Joanna) Gosser Jr., Michael Suttles (friend, Samantha Shultz), Brittnee Suttles, Jeffrey Morefield, Christopher (Kristen) Morefield, Katherine (Steven) Applegate and Kasandra (Chuck) Spivey; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Elizabeth “Faye” McCullough of Dublin; a brother, Pearl “Shorty” (Susan) Suttles of Cambridge City and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a long-time very special friend, Nancy Longnecker.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Suttles, on March 24, 1991; a sister, Pauline Suttles and three brothers, William L., Stephen E. “Gene” and Woodson Dale Suttles.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Dublin with Rev. Lester Rowan officiating assisted by Rev. Thomas L. Sproles. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin with military funeral honors conducted by contingents from the US Army and the American Legion and V.F.W.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle.
