Roger D. Watson, age 65, of Centerville, Indiana, died Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Reid Health.
Born March 14, 1952, in Richmond, Indiana, to Garrard and Dorothy Mary Fulton Watson, Roger lived in this community most of his life. He was a car mechanic and had worked at Advanced Auto Parts. Roger also worked at Belden for 18 years and was a truck driver for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky Elaine Black Watson of Centerville; daughter, Lana Girdley of Hagerstown, Indiana; sons, Ben (Anna) Watson of Illinois and Greg Watson of Arba, Indiana; stepchildren, Robert (Nicky) Smith of Hollansburg, Ohio, and Jamie (Brian) Hay of Richmond, Indiana; six grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Norma) Watson of Gas City, Indiana, and Dennis Watson of Greenfield, Indiana; mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Carolyn (Carter) Hall of New Hope, Ohio; step mother-in-law, Margaret Black of Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Nancy Watson of New Haven, Indiana, and Terry (Jerry Peoni) Riley of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother-in-law, Toney (Terry) Black of Whitewater, Indiana; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including his furry friend, Toby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doug Watson; father-in-law, Cornelius Black; and former wife, Cheryl Kidwell Watson.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, at Goshen Cemetery with Pastor David McQueen officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville.
