Jerry Jarvis Sr. age 63 of Economy passed away unexpectedly after a battle with cancer on Thursday the 16th day of November at his home surrounded by family, friends and his pastor.
He was born January 26th 1954 to Amos and Flodia Jarvis and was longtime resident of Richmond where he worked at Hutton Manufacturing, Terra Green and retired from Silgan Closures.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife Agnes (Aggie) Hollingsworth Jarvis of Richmond and three loving children Sherry Lynn Jarvis of Richmond, Jerri Ann Jarvis of Greens Fork, Jerry Jarvis Jr. and wife Amy Rowe Jarvis of Economy. Jerry and Aggie were blessed with seven grandchildren Gayle McConnell and husband Mitch McConnell, Trevor Adams, Kevin Plyley, Allison Adams, Kelvin Plyley, Tony Wetzel and Aubry Jarvis all of Richmond. Jerry has three surviving siblings, Rosanna Jarvis Melton and husband Danny Melton of Bonifay, Fla, Brenda Jarvis Eubanks and husband Michael Eubanks of Prairie Ronde, La. and Jim Jarvis and wife Cheryl Jarvis of Panama City, Fla. and a very special close friend Steve Wren of Richmond.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Amos Jarvis and Flodia Reed Jarvis of East Bernstadt, Ky. and older brother Johnny Jarvis of Richmond and his best friend and dog, Bear.
Jerry loved spending time with family and friends getting together, playing games, camping and most of all, fishing.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 22, 2017 at the Bible Baptist Church 4274 U.S. 27 North Richmond with Rev Fletcher Callahan officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
