Richmond, IN – Stanley Garner White, age 88, of Richmond, Indiana, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Friends Fellowship Community.
Born October 22, 1928, in Richmond, Indiana, to Robert William and Luella Mae Garner White, Stan spent most of his life in Wayne County. He was a 1946 graduate of Richmond High School and a 1951 graduate of DePauw University and received the Rector Scholarship. Stan was a U.S. veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked at IBM installing large computer systems. Stan later worked in computer operations for ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia and at the Golay Industries in Cambridge City, Indiana. He was a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting and enjoyed being the family genealogist.
Survivors include his wife, Madalene Bowler White; sister, Esther Sunderland of Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Edwin (Jocelyn) White of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Friends Fellowship Community, 2030 Chester Blvd., Richmond with Chaplain Sandra Ward-Angell officiating.
