Nova Mae Nation, 74, of New Castle went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2016. She was ill for a short time and was cared for in her home by her loving family while under hospice care. She was born July 11, 1942 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Dewitt Bell and Anna (Gregory) Bell Steele.
She was a member of Cross Road Church for many years, where she loved serving others. She retired from New Castle Community Schools following many years of working in the cafeteria. Nova’s greatest passion was giving of herself to others and witnessing about the love of God.
Nova is survived by her son, Ronnie Nation of New Castle, who she adored; sisters, Beulah Fudge, Barbara (Steve) Disbro, Ellen Suttles, Mara Kendall; brother, Dewitt Bell; grandson, Colt (Amber) Van Natta; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Nation; a daughter, Shelia Mae Van Natta; brother, Manuel Steele; and a sister, Donna Pitts.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Road Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
