Obituaries - Norma Ruth Bailey

Centerville, IN – Norma Ruth Bailey, age 97, of Centerville, died Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Ambassador Healthcare.

Born April 1, 1919, in Wayne County, Indiana, to Paul Russell Schroy and Geneva J. Hunt, Norma graduated from Centerville High School in 1937.

She was a resident of Centerville for forty years before moving to McAllen, Texas, where she lived for four years. Norma then moved to Onalaska, Wisconsin, for eighteen years. She moved back to McAllen Texas for fourteen years before returning to Centerville on October 24, 1994. Norma was a charter member of the Wisconsin Iowa Minnesota Doll Collectors and a member of the Lower Upper Valley Doll Collectors. She was a member of the Centerville Christian Church and Beta Eta Xi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi.

Survivors include her son, Howard ‘Pete’ (Mary Ann) Bailey of Centerville; granddaughters, Becky (Dave) Jones and Kristi (Eric) Webster; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Luke) Keller and Craig (Lisa) Webster; great-great-grandchildren, Emma and Raylan Keller and Alaina and Cailene Webster; brother-in-law, Bob O’Neill; nieces; nephews; god-daughter, Penny Schenck; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Bailey, to whom she was married on September 17, 1939; great-great-grandson, Levi Keller; parents; and sister, Audrey F. O’Neill.

Visitation for Norma Ruth Bailey was from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service followed at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at Mills Funeral Home with Reverend James Girdley officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
