Eugene J. Ripberger, 83, of Falmouth, IN passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Rush Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 11, 1933 in Glenwood (Rush County) to Adam and Elenora Orschell Ripberger and was a graduate of New Salem High School class of 1951. After graduation he served two years in the U.S. Army.
Eugene was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Cambridge City. He was a lifetime farmer who enjoyed working on and collecting antique John Deere tractors.
His hobbies included photography and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Betty (Ripberger) Ripberger; children sons Chris (Deborah), Tom (Regenia), Glen, and Neil (Jennifer) Ripberger and daughter Carol (Eugene) Baker; 14 grandchildren Brian, Dustin, Scott, Eric, Kyle, Riley, Casey, Brady, Libby, Ellen, Jon and Katie Ripberger and Patrick and Adam Baker; 7 great-grandchildren Makenna, Carson, Camden, Leah, Caylie, Joel and Emarie.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde
A funeral mass will be on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Cambridge City with Father Jeremy Gries officiating.
Burial will be in Rushville Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 p.m. where there will be a Rosary Service at 1:30pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Cambridge City, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brookville or a favorite charity.
