The Northeastern baseball team’s April 28 game against Union City was a mismatch. The Knights put on an offensive display for the record books in the Tri-Eastern Conference game, where five pitchers combined to limit the Indians to a single hit while the Knights collected 21 of their own.

The game was stopped after five innings because of the ten-run mercy rule. The 33 runs scored is believed to be a school record for the Knights.

Kaden Kress led the Knights with four hits and six runs batted in. Aiden Shaffer collected three hits, including a home run, and also drove in six runs. Jarrett Leitner had three hits, and Rodney Carlin and Riley Isaacs each had two hits. Ryan Flores-Wine had the Union City hit.

With the win, the Knights remain tied at the top of the TEC standings with Hagerstown as the only remaining teams without a loss in league play.
