The annual Model T Museum Homecoming will be Aug. 8.

The Richmond Board of Public Works and Safety approved closing the two blocks of North Eighth Street from North C Street to North E Street for the event. The street will close at 11 p.m. Aug. 7 and remain closed through 9 p.m. Aug. 8.

The street will be used for swap meet vendors and parking for Model T and other pre-1945 Fords, according to the application for the road closure.

The board also approved an interlocal agreement with Wayne County government regarding the county’s $10,000 donation for the E.G. Hill Memorial Fountain restoration. The county’s contribution is part of $50,000 raised to receive a $50,000 match from the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority’s CreatINg Places program. The donation comes from county American Rescue Plan Act dollars through the Hoosier Enduring Legacy Program.

With the $100,000 raised, the fountain restoration will use $64,000 from the bond anticipation note funds Richmond borrowed in anticipation of food and beverage tax revenue.
