Several Richmond High School fall sports athletes, teams and two head coaches were recognized recently by the North Central Conference.
All-Conference selection in Cross Country is based on finish in the conference meet. Keena Barker was the race winner in the girls race. Lauren Newton finished fifth and Katy Peacock earned sixth. All three were named all-conference. In the boys race Cale Newton finished fourth and Xavier Ogle was seventh. Both were named all-conference.
The NCC all-conference football team included first team selections Jai-Meen Allen and Deontae Watkins and second team selections Robert Alexander and Thomas Stargell.
The NCC all-conference golf team is selected by finish in the conference tournament. All five RHS golfers were named all-conference. Hannah Stearley was the individual winner of the tournament. Priya Hodges and Peyton Walton tied for second place, Kyla Rogan was third and Emma French was fourth. The Lady Red Devils were crowned NCC champions and Kyle Ingram was named NCC coach of the year.
The NCC all-conference boys soccer team included first team selections Mizraim Contreras Morales and Ben Holliday. Clifton Attis was named to the second team.
The NCC all-conference girls soccer team included first team selections Rosalinda Colaj and Sophie Reising. Mira Hasecoster, Abril Martinez and Brooklynn Stewart were named to the second team.
The NCC all-conference tennis team included first team selection Ethan Farrar at No. 1 singles and second team selection Baltazar Torres Mejia at No. 2 singles.
Richmond won the conference tournament in volleyball and head coach Darrell Morken was named the Coach of the Year. The NCC all-conference volleyball team included first team selections Madison Spradling, Jazelle James and Taylor George. Shaylon Sexton and Holly Trotter were both named to the second team.
