Wayne County municipalities met with state and federal funding agencies April 21 during Wayne County Agency Day at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.
During the event sponsored by Forward Wayne County and Wayne County government, representatives from municipalities learned about upcoming grant cycles, low-interest loan programs and technical assistance opportunities, attempting to align local needs, particularly those identified in the county’s Strategic Investment Plan, with available resources, according to a city of Richmond news release. Participating agencies included the Indiana Department of Transportation, the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, USDA Rural Development, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
“This event provided an invaluable opportunity to put Richmond’s most impactful projects directly in front of the people who help fund them,” Mayor Ron Oler said in the release. “By participating, we are ensuring that our priorities, ranging from infrastructure to economic development, are top of mind for our agency partners.”
