Of 32 athletes who participated in the shot put competition at the Bob Potter Field Event Classic on Friday, April 17, Jacob Lindahl was the champion with a toss of 58 feet, 3 inches. There were 19 schools that sent representatives to the meet including Richmond High School which Lindahl represented.

Lawrence North High School hosted the annual event, which attracted elite field event athletes from around the state.
