The duo of senior Jacob Lindahl and junior Cale Newton from Richmond High School represented Wayne County in the state track and field meet on Saturday, June 6.

Newton placed 23rd in the 3200-meter race.

Lindahl, who fouled three times, did not have a good day by his standards, but he still placed ninth in the shot put with a toss of 54’09”.25.

It was the second year in a row that Lindahl made the podium after placing seventh last year.

Lindahl, who also qualified for the state meet as a sophomore, will take his place in Richmond High athletic history as one of its few athletes to qualify to advance to the state finals three times.
