Richmond’s Morrisson-Reeves Library is joining a group that will expand the materials available to patrons while also saving on operating costs.

MRL announced April 17 that it will be a part of the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium,  a growing network of over 130 public, school, and institutional libraries located throughout Indiana that have joined together to share library resources.

“Joining the Evergreen lending consortium is monumental for MRL and the communities we serve,” said Dena Little, Morrisson-Reeves Library director, in a statement. “This allows us to provide our patrons with millions more resources, and integrate a fresh new catalog that will be easier to navigate and discover new-to-you books and movies. We are so excited to be able to leverage this opportunity, and bring MRL to the next level.”

To facilitate the transition to Evergreen, some MRL services will be temporarily unavailable between Wednesday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 30, and the library will be closed all day Monday, April 29. A public celebration is planned for Friday, May 3 from 4-5 p.m. where new materials will be showcased.
