Hagerstown welcomed 14 teams to its 43rd annual Tiger Booster track meet on Friday, May 8, for one of the oldest meets in Indiana. Both meets were close.

Despite competing in a cold rain most of the evening, the teams still performed at a high level. Hagerstown won the girls event. Northeastern won the boys event, breaking Hagerstown’s 11-year stranglehold.

The Hagerstown girls won for the first time since 2023 and the Tigers won the combined team trophy for the 15th time in the last 16 years.

Hagerstown head coach Kent Gray said after the meet that his team performed as well as they possibly could.

“Our girls are peaking at the right time. We had an exceptional performance tonight,” Gray said. “I have been happy with their work ethic and attitude and they outdid themselves this evening. I also could not be happier with the boys, I would never have dreamed that we would win the combined score trophy. I am tickled by that.”

Northeastern had already loaded its bus and left before WWN could seek comment.

Northeastern won the boys championship during the Tiger Booster meet at Hagerstown.
