Nettle Creek Schools was among 34 corporations that received funding from Keystone Cooperative’s Propane with Purpose program. The funding aims to alleviate school lunch debt and strengthen food security for students and families.
A total of $177,450 was awarded through the program, succeeding Keystone’s $150,000 goal with the help of other gifts and monetary matches from the Land O’Lakes Foundation. Nettle Creek Schools received $7,500.
Launched during the 2025-26 school year, Propane with Purpose finds Keystone contributing $0.50 to its charitable foundation for every propane delivery stop. These funds help reduce outstanding meal balances and ensure students have access to nutritious meals.
“No child should have to worry about whether they can afford a school meal. We are proud to support schools and families across our region by helping eliminate lunch debt and ensuring students have access to the nutrition they need to learn, grow and succeed,” said incoming Keystone CEO Scott Logue in a news release. “This program is possible because of the generosity of our communities and our shared commitment to supporting local students.”
