Hagerstown’s cherished end-of-summer celebration, Jubilee Days, returns Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1–2, with a full lineup of events, entertainment and food. It continues a small-town tradition that almost ended just a year ago.

The festival, organized now by community volunteers and sponsored by American Legion Post No. 333, builds on the revamped format introduced in 2024. Most events are again clustered on the town’s north side, with North Perry Street hosting art and craft vendors, food trucks, and activities.

Volunteer Michelle Huntington, one of four people primarily responsible for making the festival happen, said the planning has gone well and she’s excited to have approximately 40 vendors for the craft show and 10 food vendors. She said that this year will have more games for kids as well as the Touch-a-Truck area on Saturday.

Jubilee Days kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. with vendors and food — including That’s My Dogg Hot Doggs & More, Just Smokin’, Amish Donuts, Big Poppa’s Pork Pit and Walking Tacos from the Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority. Families can enjoy the talent show at 7 p.m. in Miller Park, followed by a screening of 1985 adventure movie _The Goonies _at dusk.

Saturday starts bright and early with a 7 a.m. biscuit and gravy breakfast at Nettle Creek Senior Center. The annual parade, stepping off at 11 a.m. on Baker Road, will once again march through town to Washington Street and Main Street with floats, flags, sirens and more. A Kids Zone, Touch-a-Truck and dog show round out the family-friendly daytime fun.

Music lovers can enjoy performances in the beer garden beginning at 2:30 p.m., culminating in a “Glow Foam Party” Saturday night in Miller Park.

Happening for over 70 years and despite a scramble to save the beloved tradition after a 2024 change in organizing leadership, Jubilee Days continues to reflect Hagerstown’s resilience and community spirit.
