Job seekers and employers can now connect more easily using the new online Wayne County Job Finder.

Economic Development Corp. of Wayne County worked with Jobs EQ to create a new tool that’s tailor-made for Wayne County employers and workers.

Anyone can use the Wayne County Job Finder at homeinwayne.com/work. It’s free and no sign-up is required.

More than 2,000 jobs are currently listed.

“We are continually working to find ways to enhance and support our employers’ efforts to attract and retain talent in Wayne County,” said Valerie Shaffer, EDC president, in a news release. “We’re excited to bring this new tool online as another way to help our employers spread the word about their employment opportunities.”

Wayne County Foundation and Forward Wayne County’s Employability Coalition have covered the tool’s cost.

It searches the Internet for job openings posted by Wayne County employers on companies’ own websites or on national jobs pages such as Indeed and Glassdoor.

Acacia St. John

Forward Wayne County’s program director, Acacia St. John, said the job finder will help current and future residents plus a variety of talent recruitment efforts, such as the Make My Move initiative that aims to attract new residents.

Job seekers can search for jobs by industry, job title, city/town or the company’s name. There is a Frequently Asked Questions section for job seekers and employers.

“We are continually pleased with the work of the EDC of Wayne County and their efforts to connect workers with our vast variety of employers,” said Rebecca Gilliam, Wayne County Foundation’s executive director, in the release. “Our employers have great jobs in Wayne County, and we want our current and future talent to see it. We encourage everyone to check out this new tool.”
