The Seton Catholic Cardinals and Union City Indians opened sectional play in Cambridge City on Tuesday, March 3, in a rematch of a regular-season game played on Feb. 5 that the Indians won 63-48.

The game on Tuesday played out far differently, but the end result was the same. Union City came back from a late-game deficit to take a thrilling 62-60 win. 

The Cardinals played well on both ends of the floor and held leads at the end of each of the first three quarters. Trailing 49-37 entering the fourth quarter, the Indians exploded for 25 points in the final period to take an improbable 62-60 win and end the Cardinals’ season. 

Luis Nieto led the Indians and all game scorers with 22 points, Jackson Cowper scored 17 points and Jayson Connor scored 15 points. Jackson Feist led the Cardinals with 19 points, Tyson Tremain scored 14 points and Zach Robinson scored 11 points. 

It was the last game in a Seton Catholic basketball uniform for seniors Feist, Sam Himes, Robinson and Tremain.
