May the force be with some female volunteers as they help renovate a home on Saturday, May 4.
Good News Habitat for Humanity is recruiting individual and team volunteers for the Women’s Day event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to rehabilitate the organization’s next home at 523 S. 11th St. in Richmond.
Local home ownership applicants are primarily women and children, who are most likely to be affected by poor living conditions, according to the organization.
Each participant commits to raising $100 while teams of five pledge to raise $500.
All participants or a team leader are encouraged to attend a meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 30 to learn about the tasks.
Good News Habitat’s office is at 1114 S. F St. in Richmond and serves Wayne, Randolph and Union counties.
