Clad in their traditional blue corduroy jackets, Hagerstown, Northeastern Wayne and Western Wayne FFA members organized the annual Wayne County FFA Farmers Breakfast.

Guests gathered Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Wayne County Fairgrounds for a meal served by the students and a program celebrating National FFA Week.

Opening ceremonies included President Kori Craig, Secretary Maggie Retherford and Reporter Ruthie Hilbert (all from Hagerstown), Vice President Amelia Price and Sentinel Tucker Shoemaker (Northeastern) and Treasurer Leo Russell (Western Wayne).

This year’s guest speaker was Nellie Mitchell, a Hagerstown High School graduate who served as an FFA state officer in 2010-2011. Braydon Munchel, Western Wayne’s adviser, gave the invocation.

Students dished up hearty hot breakfast foods as well as sweeter fruit and doughnuts to guests.
