Fountain City residents are invited to learn about 2025 opportunities and reflect on 2024 projects for their community.
Fountain City Forward is planning a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Lions Club’s building, 600 W. Main St.
Upcoming events and volunteer opportunities include stewardship of new concrete planters placed throughout town and the Little Free Library, monthly local business pop-ins, a 5k/pet walk, free movies, an end of summer block party and Levi Coffin Days booth.
The group’s 2024 highlights include supporting the creation of a Little Free Library at the Northeastern Early Learning Center, hosting business pop-ups, creating and selling “Fountain City: My Hometown” T-shirts, gathering historical and new community recipes to create a cookbook, coordinating with county commissioners to have flashing speed limit signs placed at both ends of town at no cost to the town, securing a Wayne County Foundation grant for town beautification projects and community movie nights, applying for official status with Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs-Downtown Affiliate Network, planting a community Christmas tree in the park and organizing the festive “Hometown Holiday” event.
