Hagerstown Public Library is hosting a nonperishable food drive through Dec. 12.
Each can or box donated earns a ticket to win one of 13 gifts that will be awarded Dec. 13. Items should not be damaged, dinged or expired.
The library at 10 W. College St. in Hagerstown opens at 10 a.m. daily except Sundays. It closes at 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at 3 p.m. Wednesdays and 2 p.m. Saturdays.
All donations will be given to Jefferson Township trustee’s office to help local families during the holiday season.
Trustee Chris Lane said the office served 247 families totaling 752 people in November. Food and monetary donations are needed throughout the year to help residents facing food insecurity.
For more information, call the library at 765-489-5632 or Lane at 765-489-4824.
