It was not a good weekend for high school sports in Wayne County.
All five Wayne County football teams were eliminated from postseason play in games on Friday, Oct. 20.
The trend continued into Saturday, Oct. 21.
No Wayne County team or individual advanced from the Shelbyville cross country regional to the state meet. Northeastern, the last Wayne County team standing in the postseason volleyball tournament, was eliminated in the Cascade regional after its game with Indianapolis Scecina Memorial.
