Free haircuts, health screenings and other resources will be offered to veterans during a fair designed just for them.
Eastern Indiana Works is organizing the 12th annual resource fair and hiring event open to veterans of all eras and all six branches, and their families.
It is set for 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Wayne County Fairgrounds’ First Bank Expo Hall, 861 Salisbury Road N., Richmond.
More than 100 anticipated vendors, including resource and wellness providers and employers, will help veterans with their specific needs. Door prizes and light refreshments will be available. Admission is free.
“A small idea 12 years ago with no budget has blossomed into what is probably the largest event of this kind in Eastern Indiana,” said Brian Rea, Eastern Indiana Works WorkOne disabled veteran outreach program specialist, in a news release. “All of a sudden, we had partners and businesses wanting to help and donating their services. That’s a positive community at work.”
Supporters of the event also include WorkOne Region 6, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1108 and Duncan Media.
