Using a combination of email, phone calls and postal mail, Western Wayne News attempted to reach all four candidates for Clay Township Board to participate: Cheryl Heacox (Libertarian), Louis Artman (Republican), David McClain (R), Jan Riggleman (R).
None of them submitted responses by the deadline.
On Sept. 29, McClain told WWN that he intended to withdraw from the race, but the Wayne County clerk’s office lists him as a candidate appearing on the ballot as of press time for the Oct. 7 edition.
