Cambridge City Lincoln opened regular-season play on Friday, March 29, with a road trip to the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University to face the Taylor Titans from Kokomo.

The two teams typically would not play each other, but the game, played on neutral field, was scheduled because Taylor coach Matt Brankle was formerly the coach at Lincoln.

It took time for the Eagles to get started. They fell behind 6-1 after four innings before mounting a furious rally, scoring 12 runs in the last three innings, to defeat the Titans by the final score of 13-11.

The Eagles displayed an impressive offense, collecting 12 base hits and stealing 10 bases.

Evan Stuckey led the Eagle hit parade with three hits and was the pitcher of record. Ben Bates, Carson Hawk and Oliver Webb each had two hits.

Lincoln (1-0)     0  0  0  1  3  5   4    13

Taylor (0-1)       2  0  0  4  1  4  0    11

Lincoln base hits: Bates (2), Hawk (2), Dustin Lunsford, Stuckey (3), Webb (2).
