After a challenging week of life-changing rain and flooding, the Lincoln Lady Golden Eagles were finally able to get in the gym on Wednesday, Aug. 19, to kick off their 2026 volleyball season with a 3-0 victory over the visiting Lady Cardinals of Seton Catholic.
Opening the contest with a strong serving game and energetic defensive effort, the Lady Eagles were able to secure the match by scores 25-13, 25-10, 25-16.
Senior Paige Pitcock led the team with 10 kills while fellow senior Riley Morrell and sophomore Anna Webb collected four each.
Third-year setter Rayne Morris led the team with 20 assists.
Defensively, Pitcock led all defenders with 18 digs, while Webb and Morrell each added seven and Morris dug up six.
From the service line, Morrell led all servers with six aces and four service points. Pitcock had five aces and four service points while Webb had two aces and two service points. Morris tacked on an additional two aces and five service points.
“The girls did an excellent job of focusing on their court strengths and were able to finish rallies,” said Lincoln head coach Don Crum after the match.
