The Lincoln boys basketball team hosted the International School of Indiana from Indianapolis on Friday, Dec. 6. The Eagles overwhelmed the Gryphons, taking a 21-4 lead after the first period and expanding it to 42-6 at halftime to trigger a running clock in the second half.
The Eagles played well defensively and shared the ball on offense. Eight different Eagles scored in the rout. Aidan Munchel led the Eagles with a game high of 19 points. Ryne Sturgis added 15 points. Peter Machado led the Gryphons with 4 points.
Lincoln head coach Rodney Klein was most pleased with his team’s defensive effort. “We did a good job of pressuring the ball tonight and we got in their passing lanes,” Klein said. “We tell our kids that you win games on the defensive end, and tonight we did that. We are also developing more depth offensively.”
