Residents of Wayne and surrounding counties who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and lost food because of Aug. 11 storm damage or power outages now have until Monday, Aug. 31, to apply for replacement benefits.

Fayette, Henry, Randolph and Union are also among the 53 eligible Indiana counties in the declared disaster emergency area.

Affected individuals will need to submit an affidavit, available at on.in.gov/SNAP-Affidavit, for replacement benefits. The loss (because of power outage, flood, etc.) must be verified.

The document may be uploaded to the Family and Social Services Administration Benefits Portal (https://fssabenefits.in.gov/bp/#/), faxed to 888-436-9199 or delivered to any Division of Family Resources office. Wayne County’s office at 50 S. Second St., Richmond, is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
