A father-and-son piano duo will perform several hit songs by a composer well known for collaborating musically with his brother.
Ryan & Ryan return to Civic Hall Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, with a new show, “Going Gershwin.” The venue is part of Richmond High School, 380 Hub Etchison Parkway, Richmond.
Donald and Barron Ryan say their experience in classical, jazz, ragtime and funk allows them to create new music and give fresh interpretations of classics for all ages.

The duo is expected to perform some of George Gershwin’s compositions, including “Rhapsody in Blue,” which routinely earns them a standing ovation. Their program also could include “Porgy & Bess Fantasy for Two Pianos” and “Someone to Watch Over Me,” for which Gershwin’s brother, Ira, contributed lyrics.
Donald is one of the world’s most distinguished Steinway pianists. He earned a diploma from the International Chopin Competition and has been inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. Barron has been a featured soloist at that hall of fame and other venues. He has won prizes in numerous contests.
Publicity materials say their inventiveness, infectiousness, skill and general joy of life lead to irresistibly engaging performances, and they make music that inspires.
Tickets are $40 for adults and $32 for students. Group rates are available.
Seats can be reserved at 765-973-3350, civichall.com, or by visiting the box office between 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. weekdays. Some tickets are expected to be available at the door.
